Jos Buttler's  commanding performances in the two-match series against South Africa have seen him move to the top of the England T20 MVP Rankings.

The wicketkeeper-batsman struck a superlative unbeaten 32 at Newlands and followed that up with a thundering 28-ball 54 at the Wanderers, taking his run tally in the sprint format this winter to 121, at a strike rate of 146 per 100 deliveries.

Buttler's performances in the field were also something of note. Buttler took a catch and two stumpings, placing him nine points ahead of leg-spinner Adil Rashid, who has taken five wickets at an impressive economy rate of 6.31 runs per over.

Joe Root remains way out in front in the overall England MVP, 45 points ahead of Ben Stokes.
